“We loved Mya as a character, she is a very empowering female character and one I am happy for my daughter to read about and look to as a role model. Mya defies gender bias and constraints and is very ambitious, which I think are fantastic traits for my daughter to read about. There are also great messages and lessons about friendship and especially unlikely ones, which again are valuable”
